An experience packed with colours, flavours and nature

Autumn is a time to embrace peace and quiet. The land is generous and offers us a variety of fresh, tasty products ready to be harvested and transformed into a delicious meal.

From the main entrance of Cadenazzo SBB train station we will walk (approx. 20 minutes) to Caritas Ticino organic farm (CatiBio) in the Magadino Plain Park, which forms part of the Swiss Parks Network.

Accompanied by an expert farmer, we will head out into the field where we will be shown how to harvest vegetables carefully to preserve their freshness and flavour. We will smell the scent of the earth and the newly picked vegetables in the air, feeling a connection with nature.

After the harvest we will make our way to the rustic kitchen, where we will work together to prepare a delicious dish that enhances the freshness and goodness of the vegetables we have picked. This will be an exciting opportunity that teaches us about the importance of biodiversity and sustainable farming, making us feel a real sense of gratitude to Mother Earth and our dining companions.

Other activities available depending on the season
Mid-July to late August: harvesting blueberries to make jam or for a rich, healthy snack to be enjoyed together

September to October: pumpkin picking and aperitivo on the farm with a delicious pumpkin soup

October to November: gathering chestnuts for a typical snack of vermicelles or roast chestnuts

All year round: harvesting seasonal vegetables and making a savoury tarte using the produce available
