The Valley of the Sun: where culture meets the genuine local flavours of the Blenio Valley

One sets out to discover the Blenio Valley, also known as the “Valley of the Sun.” The central element of the tour is a visit to Azienda Agricola Croce, a family-run farm offering fresh, high-quality products, all locally produced (zero kilometres). On site, participants are welcomed with an aperitif featuring fresh cheeses, followed by their delicious ice cream – a delightful way to discover the flavours of the region. Around 50 dairy cows are carefully raised on the farm, along with a similar number of young Brown Swiss cattle; during the summer season, most of the herd spends its time on the various alpine pastures in the area.

Following the farm visit, the experience can be enhanced with one of the following activities:

• A visit to the Museo Storico Etnografico di Lottigna or the Fondazione Archivio Donetta in Corzoneso (depending on availability), located in historically significant and charming buildings, with the possibility of a self-guided visit or a guided tour*, upon request and reservation. There, visitors can admire historic frescoes and an extensive collection illustrating local traditions – from craftsmanship to winemaking;

or

• A relaxing walk in nature along a marked route that can be followed independently, allowing for a deeper immersion into the beauty and traditions of the Blenio Valley.

The additional activities are not included in the price and must be booked in advance.

A private minibus service is available upon request and for an additional fee; the price will be determined according to the number of participants.

Reccomended clothing: Clothes (warm in autumn) and comfortable shoes, sun cream and headgear in summer months.

Included in the price: visit to Croce farm and the dairy, aperitivo with local products, 1 glass of wine, 1 delicious ice cream or yogurt.
