SUMMARY:An experience packed with colours, flavours and nature
DESCRIPTION:For those who like to get their hands dirty: an immersive experience in close contact with nature, discovering the region and the values of Catibio’s sustainable agriculture. Between fields, harvesting and cooking, you will discover the true meaning of “farm to table”. Suitable for the whole family.\nThe land is generous and offers us all year round a variety of fresh, tasty products ready to be harvested and transformed into a delicious meal.\nTogether with an expert guide who will tell us about the territory, from the main entrance of Cadenazzo SBB train station we will walk (approx. 20 minutes) to Caritas Ticino organic farm (CatiBio) in the Magadino Plain Park, which forms part of the Swiss Parks Network.\nAccompanied by an expert farmer, we will head out into the field where we will be shown how to harvest vegetables carefully to preserve their freshness and flavour. We will smell the scent of the earth and the newly picked vegetables in the air, feeling a connection with nature.\nAfter the harvest we will make our way to the rustic kitchen, where we will work together to prepare a delicious dish that enhances the freshness and goodness of the vegetables we have picked. This will be an exciting opportunity that teaches us about the importance of biodiversity and sustainable farming, making us feel a real sense of gratitude to Mother Earth and our dining companions.\n \n                 \n \nOther activities available depending on the season\nMid-July to late August: harvesting blueberries to make jam or for a rich, healthy snack to be enjoyed together\n\nSeptember to October: pumpkin picking and aperitivo on the farm with a delicious pumpkin soup\n\nOctober to November: gathering chestnuts for a typical snack of vermicelles or roast chestnuts\n\nAll year round: harvesting seasonal vegetables and making a savoury tarte using the produce available\n \n \nFor other dates, personalized experiences, and information, please mail us.\n \n \nAdditional Information\nRecommended clothing: comfortable clothes and shoes, sunscreen and headwear in summer.\n\nIncluded in the price: bilingual guide, visit to the farm, activities.\n\nWheelchair accessibility: no (from May 2024 the facility will be partially accessible to wheelchairs).\n\nThe programme may be subject to slight changes for organisational reasons.\n
